Artist Statement:

From 2019 to 2022 I was part of an underground music collective based in Toronto and Montreal, Canada. We were inspired by Sandwell District, one of two of the British Murder Boys, in the hard techno scene. The play on words brought forth a creative union between friends and music lovers. We created tracks, set up underground concerts and shows and raves, and produced collaborative multidisciplinary projects. During my time with them, I began DJing under the pseudonym Lampuki TGR, and I produced quite a few of their poster graphics, event posters, and brand identity that was used in all of their productions and merch.
I created the logo with inspiration from Y2K, and the 90’s style, with a refined, timeless nature.
For the posters, I approached each project differently and opted for bold colours and typography, depending on who was playing for which event. It provided me with fun design opportunities to experiment and create intrigue. We then pasted these prints all around the city two weeks before each show. On some events, we had up to 300 people showing up.
